April 24, 2020 GPRS Application Scenario

1.The wireless communication environment can only be used in the field. When the equipment at the data collection site needs to work on the mobile, or the collection site is in the field, the wired communication environment cannot be provided, at this moment, GPRS wireless network is a good choice. Since the coverage of GPRS network is currently very high, GPRS signal coverage is available in most parts of the world.

2.Field terminal transmission interval dispersion  Because GPRS network is a public network covering the whole world, a major advantage of using GPRS to transmit data is that the field collection point can be step by step in the global scope, and the interval between the data center and the field collection point is not limited. This very obvious advantage of wireless network communication (including GPRS/CDMA network, 3G network, etc.) is that private wireless communication network (such as data transfer radio, WiMax, WLAN, etc.) cannot be achieved.

3. Appropriate data real-time performance requires the delay of transmitting data of the current GPRS network to be in the range of seconds, the average overall delay of GPRS data communication is about 2 seconds in most times. That is to say, the data packet sent by the GPRS modem will arrive at the data center roughly after 2 seconds. Conversely, packets from the data arrive at the GPRS modem approximately 2 seconds later. In general, the real-time nature of GPRS can meet the requirements of most industry applications. However, for some specific application systems, if you can't withstand a uniform delay of about 2 seconds, the GPRS communication method may not be suitable. On the other hand, if the system we design needs to transmit data over a GPRS network, then this delay should be considered when designing the communication protocol.

4. Appropriate data communication rate The data communication rate between the GPRS modem and the data center is generally between 10 kbps and 60 kbps. So that is, the GPRS modem can continuously send data to the center at 10bps-60kbps, and vice versa. From the perspective of system application reliability, when the data uniform communication of our application system itself is less than 30kbps, it is more suitable to use GPRS network for data transmission. From another perspective, if the system we design is to transmit data through the GPRS network, then we need to control the data uniform communication within 30kbps.

Currently, the 4G network is relatively mature with wide coverage. If you have a request, you can choose a 4G modem, the 4G modem of USRIOT is a good choice. The 4G modem has the industry's ultra-low power consumption performance, adopts multi-level sleep and wake-up mode, and the working power consumption, standby power consumption, and sleep power consumption are much lower than similar products in the industry, and the advantages are obvious in the application scenarios where power is inconvenient. It supports private line APN transmission or virtual private network VPDN transmission, supports ModBus communication protocol to fully guarantee the security and accuracy of data communication transmission process to avoid possible leakage of information throughout the transmission process.
